All payments made to The Ledger are non-refundable. Once a transaction is confirmed, it cannot be reversed, cancelled, or credited. You are not purchasing a product that can be returned. You are purchasing entry into a system. Entry cannot be unrecorded.

This applies regardless of outcome. Whether you complete a game, fail a game, miss a window, or choose not to participate after payment — no refund will be issued.

Initiating a chargeback or payment dispute with your financial institution will be treated as a breach of these conditions. The Ledger reserves the right to permanently void the associated token and entity record.

Each payment generates a single token. That token grants one attempt. There are no second chances, no token replacements, no extensions, and no exceptions.

If a token is lost, you cannot recover it through The Ledger. Keep your token. It is your only record of entry.

Tokens are non-transferable. You may not sell, share, or assign your token to another person.

CYPHER requires you to hold a key for a precise duration. The correct duration is encoded within the cypher text. Releasing too early or too late constitutes failure. Failure is permanent.

There is no time limit on research prior to your hold attempt. However, once an attempt begins, it cannot be paused or restarted.

The Ledger does not confirm whether any given cypher has been solved correctly until the attempt is complete.

THE INTERVAL will deliver one cypher to the email address provided at the time of payment. Delivery will occur at a random point between 24 hours and 30 days after payment is confirmed. The exact delivery time cannot be predicted, requested, or adjusted.

Upon delivery, a response window of 24 hours begins. Failure to submit a correct response within this window constitutes permanent failure. The window cannot be paused, extended, or reopened.

You are responsible for ensuring the delivery email address is correct at the time of purchase. The Ledger is not responsible for emails that are filtered, blocked, or delivered to a spam folder. Check your email provider's spam settings after purchase.

The Ledger does not guarantee delivery at any specific time, including business hours. The email may arrive at any hour of the day or night. This is a feature of the game, not a defect.

Players who complete a game successfully will have an entry recorded in the public ledger. This entry includes an anonymised entity ID, response time, and game identifier. No personal information — including name or email address — is displayed publicly.

Ledger entries are permanent. They cannot be removed upon request.

Every cypher published on The Ledger has a correct numerical answer that can be derived through research and reasoning within the stated time constraints. However, The Ledger makes no warranty that any individual player will find the answer within the allotted window. Difficulty is inherent to the game.

The Ledger is not liable for failure arising from misinterpretation, incomplete research, technical issues on the player's device, or internet connectivity problems.

The Ledger's games require a modern web browser with JavaScript enabled. Players are responsible for ensuring their device and connection meet these requirements before purchase.

In the event of a verified platform outage during an active game window, The Ledger will issue a replacement token at its sole discretion. This is the only circumstance under which a token may be replaced.

These conditions are governed by the laws of New Zealand. Any disputes arising from participation in The Ledger's games will be subject to the jurisdiction of the New Zealand courts.

Nothing in these conditions affects your rights under the New Zealand Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 or the Fair Trading Act 1986 to the extent they apply to digital goods and services.
